FVC2049. Forensic Accountants In (Da) House!

There is a broad industry shift where companies are bringing on more non-attorney compliance/audit resources (rather than leveraging solely on attorneys and/or outsourced support). This has resulted in more forensic accountants being hired directly by companies to work in-house, as well as a substantive expansion of the role and responsibilities of in-house forensic accountants. This session will explore the new landscape of in-house forensic accountants, as well as considerations for outside professionals when working collaboratively with in-house teams.

Learning Objectives:

  • Distinguish in-house strategies around staffing, resourcing and use of in-house forensic professionals and how companies manage both in-house and outsourced forensics work.
  • Discuss perspectives on the range of activities, methodologies, and approach to leveraging in-house forensic professionals to support legal, compliance, audit and investigative functions.
  • Discuss types of technologies, tools and resources used by in-house forensic professionals.
