GOV2023. Audit Resolution - What Happens After You Write a Finding

Single Audit findings draw attention for users of the report to where issues in compliance may exist.  Findings are reviewed along with the grantee's corrective action plan to determine if or what additional action is needed to resolve the issues identified.  Understanding the the user's perspective, and the perspective of the grantee, can be very helpful in obtaining findings support, crafting findings, and outlining grantee responses, with a goal of obtaining an effective managements decision from the grantor.

This session will assist participants with:

  • Clarifying what a single audit finding is and is not
  • Effective single audit findings
  • Elements of responsive corrective plan
  • Implications of a management's decision
  • Resolving "disagreements" between grantor and grantee

Learning Objectives:

  • Indicate a well crafted audit finding and corrective action plan
  • Recognize implications of a grantor's management decision and impact on grants management
