Stephan is sole practitioner in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Prior to forming his own firm, Stephan spent 15 with Moss Adams LLP, a regional accounting firm with offices in western US, in various roles including SW Construction Industry Group Leader.  He retired as the Office Tax Leader for the Phoenix, Arizona office of Moss Adams LLP.  He is a certified public accountant in Arizona.  Stephan began his career with a local CPA firm in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1985, worked for an Oregon regional CPA firm from October 1987 until joining the Eugene, Oregon office of Moss Adams LLP in 1996.  He specializes in providing privately and closely held multi-generational family businesses and their owners with professional accounting, tax, and wealth services.  

Stephan has authored numerous CPE courses on tax related topics.  He is the former chair of the Arizona Society of CPAs Tax Steering Committee and Oregon-Springfield Tax Association.  He is a frequent speaker on technical tax subjects throughout the country for numerous organizations including the Construction Financial Management Association, Arizona Society of CPAs, Hawaii Tax Institute, Hawaii Association of Public Accountants, and The Tax & Estate Forum of California.
