
Chris DeBlanc
Chris DeBlanc is the Managing Principal of DeBlanc, Murphy & Murphy, a full-service accounting firm that has served the Washington DC metro area for the past 45 years. As a CPA Financial Planner, Chris has 16 years of experience working at the intersection of traditional accounting services and personal financial planning. He works with clients to create a comprehensive financial plan that aim to create, grow, and preserve wealth.
Chris is a graduate of both the University of Richmond and the American Military University. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Accounting and a Master’s in Intelligence Analysis, respectively. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®). He holds a Series 65 license and a Virginia Life, Annuity, and Health Insurance License.
Chris’s professional awards include the 2019 and 2021 Academic Scholarship from The American College Penn Mutual Center for Veteran Affairs, the 2018 AICPA P. Thomas Austin Personal Financial Planning Scholarship, and the 2017 AICPA Standing Ovation Award in Personal Financial Planning. And he was named one of 2016’s Top 40 Under 40 in the Accounting Profession by CPA Practice Advisor.
Prior to his career in public accounting, Chris served four years in the United States Marine Corps, where he successfully led 26 Marines in the largest urban ground combat operation in the history of the United States Marine Corps (The Second Battle of Fallujah). He was meritoriously promoted twice during his four-year enlistment and achieved the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with Valor) for actions while under enemy fire. After leaving the Marine Corps, Chris served another two years in Iraq as a contractor for the US State Department.
