Judy Mason joined MichaelSilver in 1995. Prior to joining the firm, she was a business owner/partner in an advertising and public relations firm, where she directed all financial services. She also served as the Manager of Planning and Control for the purchasing department of a Fortune 500 company.

With more than 25 years of experience serving dealership clients. Specifically, her industry expertise has been in the areas of tax planning for automobile dealerships, including optimizing tax strategies, corporate structuring, LIFO planning for new and used cars, manufacturer's incentives and rebates, and sales tax compliance. Judy works closely with her dealership clients to establish positive tax strategies in the areas of estate and succession tax planning, cost segregation analyses for dealership properties, captive insurance issues, and general tax compliance matters. She has also written articles on year-end tax planning issues and strategies, published by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association.

As a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Judy prepares business valuations used for various purposes such as estate and gift planning, business succession, buy/sell agreements, and litigation support. Crafting of a business valuation report is a cooperative process involving financial analysis of the company integrated with industry and market research. She has significant experience successfully defending valuation reports under audit.

Judy is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also President of the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Judy received her Bachelor of Science degree from Valparaiso University. Her Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Taxation were earned at DePaul University.

Judy has been active in her community and involved in multiple charitable organizations, serving in various leadership positions including President, Treasurer, and Board Member. Judy has also written and edited multiple articles for a variety of professional journals, trade publications, and client newsletters.
